Looking at custom, tradition and history, the tax on extraordinary profits covered only those entities that benefited from the exploitation of natural deposits of energy resources, and not consumers who incurred high costs of purchasing raw materials and electricity.

In view of the ongoing introduction of the solidarity levy resulting from the "Draft Act amending the Act on special solutions for the protection of electricity consumers in 2023 in connection with the situation on the electricity market and amending certain other acts", we wish to draw the attention to the fact that the catalogue of enterprises subject to the levy is selective and not substantive - excluding large and wealthy fuel, chemical and energy companies as well as foreign group of companies - and burdening small Polish enterprises and their employees.

Therefore, on behalf of the Company's Management Board and, above all, the employees of the Coking Plant, I would like to request re-examination of the provisions contained in the draft act. We hope to have your support in activities aimed at excluding from the catalogue of companies covered by the levy, enterprises that are not beneficiaries of the increase in prices of strategic raw materials and electricity, including coking plants.

At the same time, I am presenting you with a letter from the Trade Union Organizations operating in Częstochowa Nowa Coking Plant addressed to the representatives of the government and a letter addressed to the employees of the Company, expressing our objection to the plans to introduce a solidarity contribution on excess profits for 2022.;
